So after another super snickelway walk, started and ended up at the Golden Slipper. It is right next to the Royal Oak. Two super pubs next to each other. Only in York?
I sat down in a little room / library next to the bar and had a pint of Timothy Taylor, another great Yorkshire beer
News item
The only downside of the Golden Slipper is that the TV in the other bar is quite loud - so I could overhear it talking about the devastation in central Mexico. Mexico lies on a fault line and regularly has earthquakes. We need to be able to fund a huge project to rebuild there using building methods that are earthquake resistant. There are systems but they are expensive and I guess countries like Mexico simply cannot afford them.
