While there are couple more places to visit in King's Square, I could not resist skipping ahead to Patrick pool and Pivni the world beer freehouse:
I was almost overwhelmed with the choice of beers and lagers. I chose another great yorkshire pint - Yorkshire Blackout a 5% dark beer brewed by the Great Yorkshire Brewery. Apparently there are now three brewers in York - Brewdog, York Brewery and the Great Yorkshire Brewery.
The picture shows the top half of a gag mag which I picked up from the street as I go about picking up litter left by ???
Here is one of the jokes
If you change your mind, are you sure you still have one?
News item
The one that caught my eye was the ones about Boris and roaring like a lion. As the Times said he was channeling Winston Churchill - or perhaps Bottom from the Midsummers Night Dream.
- Bottom. Let me play the lion too: I will roar, that I will
do any man's heart good to hear me; I will roar,
that I will make the duke say 'Let him roar again,
let him roar again.'330
- Quince. An you should do it too terribly, you would fright
the duchess and the ladies, that they would shriek;
and that were enough to hang us all.
- All. That would hang us, every mother's son.
- Bottom. I grant you, friends, if that you should fright the 335
ladies out of their wits, they would have no more
discretion but to hang us: but I will aggravate my
voice so that I will roar you as gently as any
sucking dove; I will roar you an 'twere any
nightingale.
