Royal Oak

After the snickelway walk, we had planned to meet at Goji Vegetarian cafe, but it was closed (5pm), so we headed back up Goodramgate to the Royal Oak.

 I enjoyed a pint of Theakstons (hand pulled) and one of the starters (Houmous and ciabatta), which was very tasty.

A most enjoyable end to the walk.

The situation with Korea was again in the news, with Donald Trump saying they would destroy North Korea is "forced to defend itself". I wonder how many Americans can remember back to the Korean War when the USA flatten just about everything in Korea in a horrendous series of bombing raids. They had destroyed so much that they ended up bombing rice paddy fields! I think the Korean people may take a different view of America as I am sure they will be able to remember the wanton destruction caused only a few years ago.
